The Essential Packing List
Pack light, but do not underestimate Belize’s sun. Choose practical clothing that dries quickly and lets you move comfortably around the boat.

- Light-colored long-sleeve shirt
- Neck gaiter or face covering if preferred
Weather & Comfort

Polarized Sunglasses Matter on the Flats
Ordinary dark sunglasses reduce brightness, but polarized lenses cut surface glare and help you see into shallow water. That matters when the guide is pointing out a moving bonefish, permit or tarpon.
Brown, copper or amber lenses generally give useful contrast on Belize’s flats. Bring a secure strap so your sunglasses stay with you when the boat moves.
Do You Need Your Own Fishing Gear?
No. Fishing gear can be provided when arranged before the trip. If you prefer to use your own saltwater setup, tell us what species you want to target so the guide knows what you plan to bring.
Before You Fly
Check your airline’s current baggage rules for rods, reels, hooks and other tackle. Pack irreplaceable equipment carefully and label the case.
What the Charter Provides
- Licensed captain or guide
- Boat, fuel and required safety equipment
- Cooler with water
- Fishing or snorkeling equipment when confirmed
- Lunch on trips that specifically include it
- Marine-park or snorkeling arrangements when required for the booked trip

Gratuities
Gratuities are not included and are a real part of a professional guide’s income. Captain Nato’s guidance is typically $50–$100 USD per day, depending on whether you booked a half-day or full-day trip.
If additional crew or a driver worked directly for your group, tip according to the work and service provided.
Food, Drinks & Allergies
Lunch varies by trip. Some full-day fishing and snorkeling outings include lunch or a beach BBQ; shorter trips may not. Tell us about allergies, dietary needs and requested drinks or snacks before the trip.
Alcohol may be requested, but it is not part of the standard listed inclusions.
Check the Weather Plan
Passing showers do not automatically cancel fishing. Bring the rain jacket even when the morning looks clear. Unsafe seas, tropical weather, strong winds or poor flats visibility can change the location, target or departure.
Confirm Your Pickup
Your pickup time and meeting point depend on the trip, tide, accommodation and sea conditions. Beachfront pickup is not guaranteed every day.
