Pickup and Meeting Location

Captain Nato’s Charters departs from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Depending on where you are staying and the day’s sea conditions, we may collect you from your accommodation’s dock or beachfront, or ask you to meet us at an agreed dock.

Your pickup is confirmed before the trip Your exact meeting location and time will be sent directly with your booking details.

Our standard pickup area

Our standard pickup zone covers accommodations from Las Terrazas Resort, approximately 3.5 miles north of San Pedro, through San Pedro Town and south along Ambergris Caye. If your accommodation is within this area and has a safe, accessible dock or beachfront landing point, boat pickup may be available. This generally includes:
  • Las Terrazas and properties south of it
  • The northern resort area between Las Terrazas and San Pedro
  • San Pedro Town
  • Beachfront accommodations south of town
Pickup from a particular hotel dock or beach is not automatic. Access depends on the property, water depth, wind, waves and whether the boat can approach safely.

Staying north of Las Terrazas?

Accommodations north of Las Terrazas—including Matachica Resort and properties farther north—are outside our standard pickup zone. If you are staying in this area, arrange a taxi or golf-cart transfer south to the meeting point Captain Nato confirms. Depending on your location, you may be asked to meet at Captain Nato’s dock in San Pedro or at an agreed dock south of your accommodation. Do not choose a meeting dock based only on a map or another website. Contact us with the name of your accommodation, and we will tell you exactly where to go.

Main San Pedro meeting point

When guests are asked to meet in town, the meeting point is Captain Nato’s dock near the San Pedro International Ferry Terminal on Nurse Shark Street.

Because several docks and ferry facilities are nearby, wait for the exact directions or Google Maps pin sent with your booking confirmation.

Can you pick us up from the beach?

Beachfront pickup may be possible when:
  • Your accommodation is inside the standard pickup zone
  • The property permits charter-boat access
  • The water is sufficiently deep
  • Wind, waves and shoreline conditions allow a safe approach
Good weather does not guarantee that every stretch of beach is suitable for landing. Some guests may need to walk to a nearby dock even when the trip itself is running normally.

What time is pickup?

Pickup time varies with the trip type, trip duration, tide, fishing location, accommodation, weather and sea conditions. A full-day flats trip may leave earlier than a shorter reef or Neighborhood Fishing trip, but there is no single departure time for every charter. The time sent with your booking is the correct time for your trip. Please be ready at the agreed location before the boat arrives.

What if weather affects pickup?

Wind or waves may make a hotel-dock or beachfront pickup unsafe even when fishing remains possible. If that happens, Captain Nato will contact you and arrange a safer meeting point.
A trip may be rescheduled when:
  • Sustained wind exceeds approximately 24 knots
  • Persistent rain or heavy cloud makes the planned fishing impractical
  • A tropical system or unsafe sea conditions affects the area
Rainy season alone does not mean fishing will be cancelled. The guide considers the actual conditions, available fishing areas and whether the trip can be run safely and productively. When possible, a weather-affected trip will be moved to another day.
