What Bonefish Fishing Here Is Really Like
Bonefish are the fish many days on the flats are built around—not because they are easy, but because they are consistently available. While permit and tarpon have stronger seasonal windows, bonefish can be targeted throughout the year.
Reliable does not mean automatic. Bonefish feel vibration in shallow water and can disappear after a heavy footstep or a fly that lands too close. A productive day can give a first-time flats angler opportunities to learn how to spot, lead, hook and fight fish in skinny water.
